We’re pleased to welcome Lauren Jewell as our new content and production manager. Melbourne-bred, Miami-based Lauren has been doing an amazing job of managing the processes and curators involved in curating The Fetch to its fine-tuned standards each week. We’re lucky to have her on the team!

How did you end up where you are today?

I spent 12 years living and working in Melbourne mainly in retail marketing for Australian franchisors. Deciding it was time for a big change, I packed up my life for a year in order to travel throughout the US, Caribbean, Europe and South America. While on the road, I put my skills to use freelancing for both Australian and US-based clients. As 2013 closed out, my hometown of Miami was calling.

Why did you want to get involved with The Fetch?

I’ve been an on-going subscriber and found it incredibly useful as a professional resource. In particular, I love the way in which The Fetch champions community – both globally and locally.

What things excite you about our community right now?

The standout for me is the sheer passion from our curators and city ambassadors. They are an exceptional collection of creative, intelligent and hardworking people. They make me excited to be exactly where I am.

What’s your favorite thing about your city?

The sunshine!

What’s unique about Miami (will we see a Fetch there one day)?

Beyond being diverse, Miami is a mashup of extremes. While it’s best known for geriatrics and lightly dressed rollerbladers, there’s also a bit of grit thrown into the glitter. Come-as-you-are has an entirely literal meaning; the wild, wonderful and weird all vie for attention! As I get to know the community better locally, I’d love to see a Miami digest pop up. Stay tuned.

What improvements can we look out for in The Fetch?

Without giving too much away, I’d say you can expect more of what you absolutely love about what we do!

How can we connect with you?

If you didn’t live in Florida, where would you be?

I would be at home in the North Shore of Oahu, Seattle, Portland or Melbourne, of course. Common theme? Great coffee!
